This tutorial will demonstrate how to remove Adobe Creative Cloud Files from the sidebar in Windows 10, it might also work on Windows 7 8 and vista.
This involves messing with the registry, so please have a backup before proceeding. Also please be familiar with the registry, or follow every step to the T. Not knowing what you are doing, and diverting from these instructions, could cause damage to your operating system.
on to the tutorial
1. open the registry editor by:
opening start menu, type “regedit” and open it
2. navigate to:
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{0E270DAA-1BE6-48F2-AC49-4EA4DD38BF47}
- easiest way to do this is hitting “edit” in the toolbar up top, hitting “find” and pasting in that entire line into the “find what” box
3. set the “System.IsPinnedToNamespaceTree” value to 0 (if it doesnt exist create it.. dword 32bit)
- do this by double clicking on that key name on the right side of the screen. This will remove it from the File Explorer’s navigation pane.
4. Afterwards, you’ll need to prevent Creative Cloud from changing the value back. To do this:
- right click the {0E270DAA-1BE6-48F2-AC49-4EA4DD38BF47} key and then click Permissions.
- Click Advanced, and then In the dialog box that appears, click change owner, type your username and follow all prompts that come up. You might have to close the current properties window and reopen it.
- Click add on that same advanced screen and type Everyone, and then click OK.
- Change the type to Deny, and make it apply to This key only. Click Show advanced permissions, and check the Set Value box. Afterwards, click OK and Creative Cloud should no longer be able to modify that value
